Swirling

I am swirling.  That's what I call it when I have much to accomplish, yet am continually distracted by shiny things.  Over the past few weeks, I have put together the punch list of items to complete before we list our house; nothing major, just cosmetic stuff mostly involving paint.  Instead of doing that, though, I often find myself browsing Realtor and filling ideabooks on Houzz.  Cart before the horse (house) much?

Looking critically at my current house, with an eye toward staging for buyers, has helped us create the list of "must-haves," "nice-to-haves," and "dealbreakers" for the next house. We all have different priorities; I'd like a window over the kitchen sink, while a certain five-year-old has requested a backyard playset and a fireplace.  And a certain teenager has asked for a secret bookcase door.  Some of these boxes will be easier to check off than others.
